More health education and preventive care, with special attention for mother and child

The highest mortality rate is still among mothers and children, mostly due to complications during childbirth, anemia, respiratory infections, diarrhea and malaria. Many deaths can be prevented with regular check ups for both mother and child. Although this does now happen, more attention will be paid to health education. One success story is the sale of cheap but good mosquito nets which protects the children from being bitten in the night. The numbers of malaria cases in areas where families use mosquito nets has been siginficantly reduced.
