11 April 2010 Rotterdam Marathon
Sponsored run for SOK projects in Kenya
Ruud Ross is planning to run his first marathon on Sunday 11th april during the 30th Fortis Rotterdam Marathon. He is aiming to raise funds for the "Stichting Ondersteuning Kitale-project", Kenya, (SOK). He is hoping to collect 1500 euro for the expansion of the clinic.
The expansion of the clinic includes:
Blood analysis equipment
Hotwater boilers
Airconditioning for the mortuary
Cleaning equipment
Hospital furniture such as: incubators; birthing bed; cots; drip stands
Physiotherapy equipment
Training for 3 nurses
Ruud has never run a marathon before. He doesn't know if he can make it but ... he's going to do his best. He's motivated by pushing his limits and raising money for this worthy cause.
Ruud: " Ten years ago I was stricken by a serious illness that turned my life upside down. It was then I made a decision, which I shared with close friends and family, that, should I survive, I would run marathon. Now, ten years later, I am ready for the challenge. What can be better than running for a good cause?"
SOK challenges Ruud to complete the marathon. Furthermore, Stichting Wilde Ganzen has agreed extra support by donating 0.70 euro cent for each euro donated. That will almost double the amount!
The sum raised will help towards the realisation of several objectives.
Ruud is going for the challenge; will you support the SOK by sponsoring him?
