The 25th "Houtfestival" (Wood festival) took place in Haarlem on 20th June: a multicultural festival that attracts thousands of visitors each year

An important part of the festival was the 'Millenniumplein'.  The participants were organisations whose activities are involved in the realization of the eight millenium goals.

SOK was present for the first time this year. SOK's activities were on show with photo’s and brochures. The chairman of SOK, Chiel Ribbens and wife Tiny together with SOK member were on hand to inform the public of SOK's good work. Kenyan roses and with all sorts of handwork ( cards, jewellery, woodwork etc.) were also on sale to raise cash.

Apart from the positive effect of the information that was given out, the total sales added up to € 480,00. We also received a subsidy from the NCDO and the Wilde Ganzen of € 1200,00 in total. Another good step in the right direction!
